Artist's Description

This yearling grizzly cub was helping her Mom search for clams along the shore of Cook Inlet, Lake Clark National Park in Alaska. While the mother dug a hole and put her arm in it to reach for clams, the cub dug a hole and put her whole face in it. Thus the muddy face. How cute.

Sally Fuller

I grew up in western Pennsylvania and was drawn to animals and nature from an early age. As a child I was happiest exploring the local woods, catching salamanders and picking violets and lilies of the valley. Continuing throughout adulthood, I still feel most at peace when I am immersed in a natural setting. In addition to my passion for nature, I have been drawn to art throughout my life, painting in oils and watercolors, and avidly pursuing photography, which is now my chosen medium. My photographic pursuits represent a logical extension of seeing and appreciating nature. In my work, I like to explore the boundaries between photography and artistic interpretation.
